Save a copy of your settings
- Press KEY2, open the device page on your phone or computer and unlock editing.
- Open Backup & restore and select Download backup.
- Keep the downloaded .lineside file somewhere you can find again.
Backups include stations, display and power preferences, profiles and schedules. They do not include Wi-Fi passwords, control codes or device credentials.
Restore a backup
On Backup & restore, choose your .lineside file under Restore a backup. Review the preview, then select Restore configuration. This replaces the saved configuration with the backup’s settings.
If a backup is rejected, your current configuration is kept. Wi-Fi passwords are not restored from a backup.
Install a firmware update
Check your current version on Device or the device’s Settings screen. Use a signed .linesidefw package supplied by Lineside for your display. If you need an update package, contact support.
- Download a settings backup first and connect USB power.
- Press KEY2, unlock editing and open Firmware.
- Select the supplied file under Firmware package, then choose Install firmware.
- Keep the page open and power connected while the device verifies and installs the update. Wait for it to restart.
- Reopen Settings and check the firmware version.
Restore previous firmware is available when a previous bootable version exists. Older firmware may not understand newer settings; contact support before reverting if you’re unsure which backup is compatible.
Choose the right reset
- Forget all networks on Wi-Fi removes saved network details and restarts setup. Stations, profiles and schedules are kept.
- Factory reset on Device clears Wi-Fi details and customer preferences, including stations, profiles and schedules, and restarts setup. It keeps the installed firmware.
- Restore previous firmware changes the installed software; it is not a way to clear preferences.
Back up your settings before a factory reset if you want to keep them. Each destructive action asks you to confirm on the device’s web page.
